Governing Council

The Felixstow Community School Governing Council is responsible for supporting the Principal in the governance and decision-making about the school’s direction and purpose.  The Governing Council has responsibility to perform certain functions, including involving the school community in the governance of the school, setting the broad direction and vision of the school, raising money for the school, strategic planning, developing policies and reporting on these aspects to the school and the minister. The Governing Council consists of 10 councillors, 7 parents of students at the school, the principal and one staff member.

There are currently three sub-committees to the Governing Council:

  • Finance Committee – oversees financial obligations of the Governing Council
  • OSHC Committee – Oversess management of the OSHC service
  • Community Projects Committee – Oversees any ongoing or once off projects managed by parents within the school (eg organisation of fundraising, working bees, sports coordination, parent workshops etc)
