Our Primary students walked to Lochiel Park Community Garden yesterday as a part of their inquiry learning. At the Community Garden we were met by some volunteers whom acted as our guides around the garden. They taught us how the garden works, what they grow, the tools they use and even let us try some of their fresh produce.

On Thursday 20th August, our Primary students caught the bus to Urrbrae for a Farm Trails Tour and Science Show! The students really enjoyed themselves and were able to learn a lot in relation to our Inquiry topic Market to Meal.

On Thursday, Felixstow Community School staff, students and families rugged up and spent the day at Morialta Conservation Park. The students did a walking trail before meeting at the playground for a play and sausage sizzle. The students enjoyed having the opportunity to spend time together in nature before school holidays.

Felixstow students had a special visit from Fireman Matt to talk about fire and emergency safety. Fireman Matt spoke about the process of what happens when you call 000 and the type of emergencies that fireman help with. The students had lots of questions and were excited to see our teacher Lauren get dressed up in the Fireman gear.

Last Thursday Felixstow students went on the Dream Big excursion. The Primary students enjoyed a performance at the Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, while the Juniors enjoyed a performance and silent disco at the Festival Theatre. The students caught public buses into the city, learning some valuable real-life skills while taking in the cultural experiences of their performances.
