Felixstow Christmas Tree Competition

During the last term of 2019, Felixstow students, with the support of our SSO’s designed and created a Christmas tree to be entered into the Parade Norwood competition against other schools. The Christmas trees were displayed on the Parade where community members could choose their favourite and vote on Facebook.  Our inquiry topic ‘our future depends on the resources we choose’ led us to decorate the tree using recycled materials and solar lights.

Over the holidays, we were announced as the winner of the competition. We were awarded with a $250 Dillon’s book voucher and $1000 to give to a charity of our choice. The students are very excited to choose some new books and be able to share their win by helping others in need.
